The Place…For Mastering was built to deliver pristine sonics, accurate monitoring and client comfort.  The room is a hybrid design of discreet high voltage analog processing combined with an ultra-accurate digital signal path.  The two transfer paths can be used exclusive of one another or combined to suit the project passing through them.  A minimal amount of high quality cabling is used to keep the signal path short.  Your audio is never run through miles of cable, multiple processing devices, or jitter ridden routers.  This allows us to achieve superior audio clarity and musicality. All electronic components used at The Place were chosen as part of a larger system that when combined produce stunning results.  At the center of the system is a custom designed analog transfer console.  Analog equalization and dynamics processing are performed by SPL, Great River, and Smart Research.  Digital processing is performed by Weiss, Waves DSP, Lavry Engineering, AudioCube VPIs and Antelope Audio.  A to D and D to A conversion is performed by Pacific Microsonics and Lavry Engineering. Analog playback (1/4” & 1/2”) is available from a fully restored ATR Services (Mike Spitz) Ampex ATR-102.  Digital playback is available from .wav, .aiff, or .sd2 files (If you don’t see your mix format listed please give us a call.) Digital editing is performed on a customized Sequoia Digital Audio Workstation.  Audio restoration is by Algorithmix. Monitoring is via Eggleston Andra I loudspeakers and Pass Labs X-350 amplification. Together this mastering system achieves the often attempted but rarely attained quality of real world translatability.
