127th AES Convention - Workshop W4 Friday Oct 9 2009  2:30-4:00 Joe Palmaccio Co-Chaired Workshop - W4 "Mastering in an Ever Expanding Universe - 2009 and Beyond" at this year's Audio Engineering Society convention in New York City.  The workshop was a rousing success discussing the latest mastering trends with the standing room only crowd.  Other panelists included: Gavin Lurssen, Vic Anesini, Michael Romanowski, Mark Wilder and Andrew Mendelson.

Great Cause, Legendary Event Friday, May 22 2009, The Place...For Mastering sponsored the 14th hole at the Audio Masters Golf Tournament at Nashville's Harpeth Hills Golf Course.  The annual event benefits the Nashville Engineer Relief Fund.  This was The Place's first time to sponsor a hole...and it won't be the last.  It was the best day at "work" ever!

Historic Hank In 1951 Hank Williams was at the zenith of his popularity when his Mothers Best Flour morning radio show on WSM radio was recorded and broadcast.  Finally, more than 50 years later, those recordings have been released on CD.  Joe Palmaccio at The Place...For Mastering spent nearly two months lovingly restoring and mastering the 54 tracks that also feature Hank's warm and entertaining banter during the shows.  Now everyone can turn back the clock and tune into history. AC/DC No Bull on rampage On Oct 16 2008 the RIAA certified AC/DCs "No Bull" DVD 5x multiplatinum.  Joe Palmaccio mastered this project with producer Al Quaglieri at The Place...For Mastering in Nashville.

2008 Blues Music Award Breakin' it UP, Breakin' It DOWN won Historical Album of the Year at the 2008 Blues Music Awards on May 8 in Tunica Mississippi.  The album features live performances from 1977 by Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, and James Cotton.  Joe Palmaccio at The Place...For Mastering mastered the Legacy Recordings project.  The producers were Bob Margolin, Steve Berkowitz, and Al Quaglieri.

AC/DC multi multi PLATINUM AC/DC's longform video Family Jewels has been certified 10xPlatinum by the RIAA.  The band's video box set Plug Me In has exceeded the 5xPlatinum mark.  Both projects were mastered by Joe Palmaccio with producer Al Quaglieri for Legacy/Columbia.

Taylor Swift crosses over with POP RADIO SINGLE The response to singer/songwriter Taylor Swift's original country version of "Teardrops on My Guitar" was so great that the single was remixed into a pop version.  The Place mastered the pop single which blanketed pop radio.  You go girl!

Love, Luther on New York Times and USA Today best of season lists This October, the first career spanning collection of Luther Vandross' music featuring 56 songs on 4 CDs was released.  This memorable package also includes a deluxe 60 page book with rare photos and memories from the Vandross family album.

Lori McKenna Unplugged at Studio 330 This amazingly gifted songwriter offers a cutting performance of her work which has left quite an impression on The Place.  This EP accompanies the CMT music television episode.
